Stephanie and Adam

Stephanie and Adam will be married in November, in the Champagne Cellar, at the Biltmore Estate.  This will be an intimate ceremony with just family attending, which I think is wonderful!  I love the Champagne Cellar, as the ambiance is so romantic and unique.  I truly think they made the perfect choice for their wedding location.  Stephanie and Adam have been a couple since December of 2007, and they were engaged a little over a year ago.  Check out their amazing engagement photos by Parker J Pfister, and read more about them below…

How did you meet each other?
We met through mutual friends. My childhood best friend had been dating his good friend for nearly eight years, and somehow, we had never met. When they decided to tie the knot, they introduced us, and we have been together ever since.

When did you get engaged, and how did he ask?

We have been engaged since October of 2009. We decided to stay Adam’s family’s farmhouse one weekend to spend some time together relaxing and unwinding. We were sitting in the great room next to the fire talking about our plans for the future. All of the sudden, Adam knelt down and asked me to marry him. It was completely spontaneous, and it felt totally right.

What do you two do for a living?
Stephanie is a corporate attorney, and Adam is in his third year of medical school. He plans to pursue a residency in dermatology.

What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple?
We are serious foodies, so we love to spend time dining together. We also really enjoy traveling, and we are looking forward to our first trip to Europe together this spring for our honeymoon. Adam fancies himself a movie critic, so we take every opportunity we have to watch movies. We have a minor obsession with our dogs, Bitsy and Beau, and love to spend time with them.

Why did you choose the Biltmore Estate as your wedding location?
Despite living so close to Asheville, neither of us had ever visited the Biltmore. We knew we wanted a really romantic setting for our intimate wedding, and when we saw the Champagne Cellar, we knew it was perfect. We are hoping to start a new tradition of visiting on our anniversaries to remember our very first visit – our wedding.

When you think about your wedding, what are you most excited about?
We are really thrilled to be spending a lovely day with each other and our parents. Mostly though, we are excited to be married and to continue our lives together, but as husband and wife. Oh yeah…and the food.

What do you love about each other?
Stephanie: What I love about Adam is…a laundry list of his characteristics, but topping the list is how he brings out my very best. He challenges me and supports me. I love his trustworthiness, dependability, and loyalty. He loves me at my very best and my very worst; he is my rock. Did I mention he is devastatingly handsome?

Adam: What I love about Stephanie is…the way our personalities complement each other. She is caring, understanding and loving. She is my everything, and I can’t wait to be married to her.

Anything else you would want people to know?

We have been incredibly fortunate to find one another, and we are forever grateful to our families and friends for their continued love and support.

Melissa and Brian

Melissa and Brian will be married on October 23, 2010 after three years of dating.  Their will share their vows at the Basilica of St. Lawrence, and they will celebrate these vows at a reception at the Lioncrest, located on the Biltmore Estate. Melissa and Brian have been wonderful to work with, and I am delighted to be a part of their special day.  Read more about them below…

How did you meet each other?
Brian says we first met each other in Torts class in law school during our first year. I don’t remember that at all, and I think we met on a trip to New York for a program we were both involved with in law school to learn about public interest work. I’m pretty sure I’m right. Although I had a crush on Brian instantly, he was dating someone else and is an honorable guy, so we didn’t start dating until our third year in law school when he was finally back on the market.

When did you get engaged, and how did he ask?
We got engaged last August on a trip to Paris. Brian planned a romantic day around the city but was so anxious that I thought he was having a terrible time. After a traditional French dinner, we went to walk around the area and somehow “stumbled” upon Notre Dame Cathedral. Brian suggested that there may be gardens in the back and we should check them out. I knew right away that he was going to propose because I was pretty sure no guy would know the location of gardens at the church without looking into it beforehand. Once we found the garden, Brian got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I ruined it by getting over excited and grabbing the ring before he had a chance to stand up. But it worked out.

What do you two do for a living?
Brian is an in-house attorney for Driven Brands, and Melissa is an attorney with Hunton & Williams

What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple?
We’ve recently taken up the delightful sport of hunting giant spiders now that we have a new house. We also like to hang out with our chocolate lab and relax. I like to take Brian to bad movies, and he likes to pretend he doesn’t enjoy them.

Why did you choose the Biltmore Estate as your wedding location?
For about two years after law school, Brian lived in New York and I lived in Charlotte, so our weekends were really important for us, since it was the only chance we had to spend time together. Brian came down one weekend before Christmas, and we decided to drive up to Biltmore because we heard that the holiday decorations were beautiful. It was such a great get-a-way that we went back on a few different weekends. None of our family lives nearby, so we decided to get married somewhere that meant something special to us.

When you think about your wedding, what are you most excited about?
I can’t wait to be Mrs. Brian Romanzo. Brian can’t wait to be Mr. Melissa Patterson. We’re just excited to get married.

What do you love about one another?
Melissa: What I love about Brian is…his sense of humor. He is the funniest person I know, and he gets my jokes, which is really nice. He is also incredibly loyal and will do anything for someone that he loves. I love that he knows all of my secrets and habits, and he still wants to marry me.

Brian: What I love about Melissa is…the fact that she makes me a better person. When she’s not making me laugh, she is taking care of me and everyone else she that loves. She is creative, smart, and stunningly beautiful. I am one lucky guy!

Tiffany and Dustin

Tiffany and Dustin will become husband and wife in October surrounded by the changing fall leaves.  Their ceremony will take place on the Vista at the Inn on Biltmore Estate, and the reception will be inside the Vanderbilt Ballroom.  Tiffany and Dustin have been together for two years, and they got engaged in June of 2009.  Read more about this special couple…

How did you meet each other?
We met online though yahoo personals. Now that we are getting married I can tell the truth.  I used to tell people we were introduced through my cousin who has a computers based job like Dustin.

When did you get engaged, and how did he ask?
We got engaged June 12 2009. Dustin tried to recreate our first date. He wanted to go to the same restaurant and watch Marley and Me. I told him no because we had already watched Marley and Me, and I didn’t like the restaurant he wanted to go to. We went out to eat some place else and came home to watch He’s Just Not that Into You. During the movie he told me to take the dogs out for him, and when I came back inside he had a slideshow with pictures of us and songs playing on the TV. When it was over he took me out to our deck where he had candles and roses everywhere and asked.

What do you two do for a living?
Tiffany is a RN in the PACU at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, OH. Dustin is a Team Leader/Software Engineer at Advantage IQ in Cincinnati, OH

What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple?
We are both competitive by nature. We love to play different games together or putt-putt golf to see who the winner of the day is. We like to go to the movies. We like to spend time with family and friends. This includes taking Tiffany’s nieces to amusement parks and other places. It gives us practice for when we have our own family.

Why did you choose the Biltmore Estate as your wedding location?
We wanted a destination wedding. I always thought I would get married at the beach, but Dustin’s brother did that. Since my favorite season is fall I thought a mountain wedding would be perfect. I had always wanted to visit the Biltmore but never made it to Asheville. My family has always vacationed in Gatlinburg. I thought a marriage in Asheville would give everyone a reason to discover Asheville. We decided to check out different locations in Asheville, and when we saw the land behind the Biltmore Inn I knew it was perfect.

When you think about your wedding, what are you most excited about?
We are excited for our guest to see how beautiful this area is and spend time with them at our reception. Everyone always asks, “Why Asheville?” I hope they will see how much we love it here.

What do you love about each other?
Tiffany: What I love about Dustin is that he is my best friend. No matter what situation is going on Dustin can always make me laugh. I love that anything we do can be made into a competitive situation. The world is more interesting with Dustin.

Dustin: What I love about Tiffany is that she always keeps me on my toes. I love that she helps keeps any difficulties that come up at work or home in perspective. I love how she shares my competitive nature and wants to beat me at everything and pushes me to try my hardest against her. I also love the fact that while she is down right beautiful she is also great to talk to and has become my best friend.

Leah and Adrian

Leah and Adrian will be married in October at the Deerpark on the Biltmore Estate.  After four years together, they will finally wed on the date of 10-10-10! Not only is fall such a wonderful time to get married, but they have picked the most memorable date…love it! Read more about Leah and Adrian below…

How did you meet each other?
We met because Leah moved to Orlando for grad school and she was moving into the
apartment that Adrian was moving out of. We went dancing and have been together ever
since.

When did you get engaged, and how did he ask?
We got engaged Oct 18, 2008. Adrian had been out playing basketball & called me
on his way home to ask me if I wanted to go with him to Leu Gardens to walk around since
I had never been and it was finally starting to cool down. I said sure & he came over to pick
me up & we headed over. He was acting weird the whole way, texting on his phone, etc. but
I just figured he was preoccupied. We started walking through the gardens and he eventually
guided me towards the butterfly garden. As we got to an archway, I noticed a little basket
hanging on ribbon from it. I almost thought we had stumbled on a part of the wedding that
was taking place in the rose garden. But then I noticed the ring box. & he turned to me, got
down on his knee, & said “God could never have given me a better woman than you… will
you marry me?” Of course I said yes and cried and we hugged and kissed. And then I found
out that his best friend & wife had been taking pictures of us the entire time.

What do you two do for a living?

Adrian is an automotive painter for a body shop that specializes in exotic cars.
Leah is an admin for an exotic car dealership while she works on her doctorate in Media
Psychology.

What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple?
We’re both car lovers so we like to go to local car shows together. We also love food so we
love to find new restaurants or specialty food places.

Why did you choose the Biltmore Estate as your wedding location?
We chose Biltmore because Leah grew up in Pennsylvania and Adrian grew up in
Florida so there was no way for us to pick one place or the other without essentially
choosing one side over the other. We also picked it because it was absolutely beautiful and
we hoped that our family & friends would enjoy the area as much as we have.

What do you love about each other?
Leah: What I love about Adrian is… the way he loves me and believes in me.
No one has ever pushed me harder to be the best I could be like he has and no one
has ever supported me the way he does every day.

Adrian: What I love about Leah is… her mind and ambition. She could do
anything she wanted to and I think she will do great things. I also love the way our
personalities fit- everything complements each other.

When you think about your wedding, what are you most excited about?
We are excited to see each other that day and finally be man and wife. We are also
very excited about our honeymoon in Fiji because we haven’t been able to take a vacation
during our relationship and we decided to splurge on ourselves for this one special trip.

Falon and Clay

Falon and Clay are a beautiful couple, and they will be getting married at the Deerpark at the Biltmore Estate this October.  I just love the fall, and I think they have chosen the perfect time for a wedding!

Clay and Falon have been engaged since November 21st of 2009.  To know more about this couple, see below!

How did you meet each other?
Clay and Falon met while in high school at Statesville Senior High. After being friends for four years, they both went their separate ways. Several years later Clay contaced Falon again, and they decided to meet. After a few short summer months of baseball games, dinners, and getting to know one another again, they were officially dating. The rest is history…

How long have you two been together?
Officially…the second time around (because we dated some in high school) 5 ½ years

How did Clay propose?
The proposal…Well, it started out as a regular Friday evening for the couple. They were attending at Rotary Cocktail Holiday function at the Statesville Civic Center with family and friends. They danced the night away to the band, Liquid Pleasure, and then stayed after wards to help clean up. After wards, they jumped in Clay’s car to leave and Falon saw a small white box in the seat. “What is this,” she asked. “Oh, nothing,” he replied. By the look on his face, she knew it wasn’t “nothing.” Once it hit her that he may be proposing and that box was a ring box, she hopped out of the car. Once she turned around, Clay was down on one knee, in the parking lot, and asked her to marry him. She cried…and cried…and cried some more. After several minutes of trying to realize if this was really happening, she said, “Of course I will.” They spent the rest of the night celebrating with friends and family. It was perfect!

What do you two do for a living?
Clay is a Sales Representative for Pratt Industries in Statesville and Falon is pursuing her Master of Arts degree in Teaching (Elementary Education) at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple?
We both LOVE sports, Carolina Panther and Tarheel fans! We also enjoy traveling, the beach, hiking, playing cards, hanging out on Lake Norman, grilling out and spending time with our three year old black lab, C.J.

Why did you choose the Biltmore Estate as your wedding location?
When we first got engaged, we were not sure where our wedding would take place. We both agreed that it should be somewhere classically vintage and romantically simplistic. The Biltmore Estate was one of the first places that “caught our eye.” Once we visited the estate, and saw the beautiful old carriage house, The Deerpark, we knew our decision was going to be easy! We jumped in the car after our visit, and said simultaneously, “this is it!” After that, the planning has been easy. We want our family and friends to be able to join us in a place that is comfortable and classic when we make our vows to one another to be together forever. This place was perfect for us, and we hope they enjoy it as well!

When you think about your wedding, what are you most excited about?
We are most excited about marrying one another and beginning our life together. We are also very blessed to have so many of our family and friends that are going to be able to travel from near and far to come celebrate with us, and we are extremely excited about seeing everyone. We also cannot wait to see all of our planning put into action…and become a reality.

Anything you want people to know?
Falon: I love that Clay makes me want to be a better person. He is the one person in the world that I believe knows me for me…and loves me for all that I am. He is there for me during the good and not so good times…and always is beside me, supporting me, in the decisions that I make. Clay makes me feel as though I can do anything! Clay also makes me feel so young at heart and I seem to laugh constantly when he is around. I love him for him…always and forever.

We are so grateful for the most supportive, caring and wonderful people in our lives…our families and friends. Everyone has been so great in helping us during the planning process, and we are so excited about getting everyone together to celebrate on October 2nd!

Clay: Falon is everything to me and I am excited to share our future together. We are both very lucky to have such great family and friends and can’t wait to have everyone together for our wedding.

Lauren and Chad

Lauren and Chad will be married in September at the Lioncrest, located on the Biltmore Estate.  They are an amazing and truly gorgeous couple, and I am so so excited about their wedding coming up!  They have been together since November of 2008, and they can thank Lauren’s mom (whom I adore, by the way) for setting them up.  What a great mom!  Read more about Lauren and Chad below…

How did you meet each other?
Chad and I met the best way possible… through my Mom.  We have more friends in common than we could have ever thought possible for two people from completely different towns.  My mom was tailgating for a UNC football game with my oldest brother, Jonathan and his wife, Haley in October of 2008. She was talking with Reid, a good friend of Jonathan’s, and also a close friend of my mom’s.  Reid was also Chad’s brother-in-law.  Reid previously had worked with my mom in high school and shadowed her in college while he went to dental school.  My mom met Reid’s wonderful wife, Ashelea, and she asked if my mom had ever met her brother.  My mom said she had always wanted to meet him, knowing that he had played baseball for Carolina… and Ashelea insisted she introduce them.  Chad and my mom talked for a few minutes and finished off their conversation with a picture.  The next day, my mom came home and told me about the handsome, nice, and TALL, guy she had met at the football game.  I laughed it off not thinking that my mom even had a clue about my taste in men. A few days later we were out to lunch and I asked her about this guy.  She said he was the brother-in-law of Reid, so I thought I’d give it a shot. We decided that we would meet each other at half-time of the next UNC football game.  The game was UNC vs. Ga Tech. We texted (silly as it may be) the whole morning before and during the first half of the game.  Chad was taking recruits around the stadium and I was being taunted by Jonathan and Haley for being nervous about the half-time introductions. Half-time rolled around and I walked down to the corner of the endzone to meet Chad.  We went out that night with a group of people and have been inseparable ever since.

When did you get engaged, and how did he ask?
Our engagement is definitely a story we will tell our kids one day!  We were on a vacation together, both of our first times to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.  We had just arrived in Punta Cana at our hotel and decided to go to the pool for a little while and enjoy a few drinks.  We were hanging out at the pool and out of no where I decided to ask Chad if he wanted to talk about our future (I never really ask this, but since we were on vacation together, I thought it might be a nice time to talk about such things…).  Chad’s face immediately turned from happy to annoyed and he says he doesn’t really know what there is to say about our future, and he doesn’t really feel like it’s something we need to talk about right now.  That’s when my face goes from happy to sad. I tried to push for more, but when I saw he wasn’t really going to budge, I just gave up.  On our way back to our room to change for dinner, I even got so sad I cried because I thought Chad had brought me on this trip to break up with me. All these crazy thoughts were running through my head (as you can see!). We changed and went to watch the sunset before dinner.  While we were watching the sunset, Chad handed me a box and said he had brought me a present for our first night together in Punta Cana.  I automatically thought he had gone and bought something at the hotel gift shop to try and make up for his poolside antics.  I opened the box and inside was a charm for my charm bracelet he had bought me for Valentine’s.  The charm was shaped like a heart and had “Marry Me” engraved on the front. I looked up, in utter shock, and Chad had a diamond ring in his hand and was down on one knee.  I said yes, of course!

What do you two do for a living?
Chad works at Main Street Financial Group in Forest City, NC. He is a group benefits consultant. The company has been family owned since 1928. Chad works alongside his uncle, Cooper, and his dad, Tripp. Lauren works at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, NC. She is a marketing and public relations specialist and plans events for the hospital.

What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple?
We love to play with our three dogs, Omaha, a white lab, Slugger, a labradoodle, and Bogart, a maltese. Anything that involves being around our dogs makes us happy. Chad went to UNC-Chapel Hill and Lauren, NC State, so we enjoy a friendly rivalry of our alma-maters depending on what season it is. Currently, it is football season and Lauren would like to let it be known that the wolfpack is 3-0 and the tarheels are 0-2.

Why did you choose the Biltmore Estate as your wedding location?
We love the North Carolina mountains and the Biltmore Estate is nestled perfectly in the middle of these beautiful mountains. The gorgeous views that you get from each and every location on the estate made the Biltmore the perfect place for our wedding. Plus, it was a great “neutral” location for both of our families since neither of us are from the area.

When you think about your wedding, what are you most excited about?
EVERY LITTLE DETAIL. For starters, becoming husband and wife. We can’t wait to look into each other’s eyes and say “I do”. After we become Mr. and Mrs., we are going to dance the night away with our most favorite people on the planet. What could be any better?

What do you love about each other?
Lauren: What I love about Chad is… the way he treats me. Chad treats me like I am the most special woman on earth and the center of his world. It makes me feel so special. He never lets a day go by without saying he loves me, telling me how beautiful I am (even if I disagree over and over again), and he always says, “how did I get so lucky” and “are you sure I deserve you?” I know he would do anything for me, and I would do anything for him.

Chad: What I love about Lauren is… What an absolute beautiful person she is from the inside out. She is the kindest most caring person I have ever meet. Lauren is everything and more I have ever dreamed about in a woman. She brightens everyone of my days with her sparkling blue eyes, gorgeous smile, and love for life. I thank God everyday for bringing Lauren into my life and I cant wait to spend the rest of my life with her.

Anything else you would want people to know?
I’m in love, I’m in love, and I don’t care who knows it! – Elf

Kristina and Scott

Kristina and Scott will be married at the gorgeous Basilica of St. Lawrence in downtown Asheville, NC. Then the guests will travel to the Deerpark, located on the Biltmore Estate, for the reception.  Kristina and Scott have been a couple since the winter of 2004, and they are so excited about their upcoming wedding!  Read more about this very special couple…

How did you meet each other?
We were set up! One of Scott’s neighbors was a co-worker of mine – so she, her husband and another couple were co-conspirators.

When did you get engaged, and how did he ask?
The plan was to go to camping on Santeelah Lake… unfortunately the weather didn’t cooperate. Once Scott purchases a gift, it’s really tough for him to hold on to it, so he just asked me at home! It made my day {and week, and year!}. And he referenced a great song in the proposal – from Dave Matthews…. I do know, where you go, is where I want to be. ☺ He’s a keeper.

What do you two do for a living?
Scott is a technician for AT&T and I am an Operations Consultant

What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple?
Anything outdoors: camping, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing (although we haven’t gone in awhile!). We just tried Stand Up Paddleboards for the first time this summer – that may be a new sport for us! We also enjoy entertaining, traveling and hanging out with our dog, Sierra.

Why did you choose the Basilica and the Deerpark as your wedding location?
We love the architecture of the Basilica, and felt a connection with Father Thomas, although we hadn’t met him in person yet! It’s really an amazing place. The Deerpark was my mom’s suggestion – she knew that Scott & I were looking for an outdoor option for the reception, but wanted to have a solid plan b, in case of bad weather. She suggested that we check out the Biltmore – and we couldn’t be more excited! The layout of the Deerpark is inviting, and we have had a great experience with Maura and rest of the Biltmore staff.

When you think about your wedding, what are you most excited about?
Aside from the actual ceremony, seeing all of our friends & family. They are traveling from all over the US, so we know it will be a really special event. And then there are the flowers! I personally can’t wait to see what Stacey dreams up.

Anything else you would want people to know about the planning process?
1. Pick a good team! I feel like I have bugged mine a ton and everyone has been extremely patient. 2. Stay within budget – I noticed the most stressful times seemed to be when I was starting to make decisions that would put us over our original plan. 3. It’s all about a great guest list!

Avery and Nick

Avery and Nick will be getting married this September at the Cliffs Glassy Chapel in South Carolina.  Their guests will then be treated to a dinner reception at the Cliffs at Keowee Falls. This beautiful couple have been together for three years now, and they are very excited about their upcoming wedding.  Please read more about Avery and Nick…

How did you meet each other?

What do you two do for a living?

Avery is a lawyer and Nick is in politics.

What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple?

We love traveling, dining out, music and sporting events.

Why did you choose Cliffs at Keowee Falls as your wedding location?
My parents (Avery’s) own property at the there, and we have been vacationing there since they started dating.

When you think about your wedding, what are you most excited about?

That is a tough question!  Probably the rehearsal dinner…what is not to like about Bluegrass & BBQ?!

What do you love most about each other?
Avery:  What I love about Nick is… He grounds me and is very laid back. I am super high strung. Most importantly he make me laugh.

Nick:  What I love about Avery is… the fact she challenges me, has exposed me to lots of new things, generous nature and is easy to laugh.

Kathryn and Doug

Kathryn and Doug will be getting married this July at the Diana on the Biltmore Estate.  The Diana has amazing views of the Biltmore House and the surrounding mountains.  Perfect backdrop for their wedding!  Kathryn and Doug have been together for three and a half years, and they are looking forward to spending their life together as husband and wife!  Please enjoy reading more about this beautiful couple…

How did you meet each other?
Doug swam at Auburn, and I was his “Tiger Splasher,” which is like a cheerleader for the swim team. In his goodie bag, I gave him some chapstick that had the Auburn football schedule on it (which is the greatest gift ever if you are a chapstick addict like me). Two years later, I was over at his house and asked if he had any chapstick. He pulled out the Auburn chapstick, still in the package, and said, “You can keep it. Some Tiger Splasher girl gave it to me.” After an awkward 5 minutes or so following that, it was win, win. I got to keep the chapstick, and Doug got a date.

When did you get engaged, and how did he ask?
October 2 on the way to the Auburn/Tennessee game in Knoxville. Our parents were together in Knoxville already for the game. He asked me on the way up at the top of Lookout Mountain, and then we got to celebrate with our parents that night. And then Auburn won. It was a perfect weekend.

What do you two do for a living?
Doug is a graphic and web designer, and I am a paralegal, and soon-to-be law student starting in the fall.

What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple?
We love to travel, walk our dog, Mamie, play tennis, go to the beach, take pictures, anything outside!

Why did you choose Asheville and the Biltmore Estate as your wedding location?
I (Kathryn) did mission trips to Asheville every summer, and it has remained such a special place to me.  It’s my God place.  We went to Asheville while Doug was training for the Olympic trials for a swim clinic and stayed to celebrate our first anniversary, and Doug fell in love with it too.

When you think about your wedding, what are you most excited about?
Doug:  Getting to spend it with KK (Kathryn)
Kathryn:  Being married. Asheville. Friends. Family. The mountains. The food. The music. All of it!

What do you love most about each other?
Kathryn:  What I love about Doug is…
He is constant, steadfast, very patient and kind to everyone.

Doug:  What I love about Kathryn is…
Her spontaneity, loyalty to those she cares about, and her ability to make me a better person.

Lexie and Wesley

Lexie and Wesley will be getting married at the Old Edwards Inn Farm this July.  This is such a gorgeous location for a wedding!  Lexie and Wesley have been dating long distance for over two and half years, and they are ready to finally be together as husband and wife.  Every wedding is special, but since they have made this work while being apart makes this union even more special! So honored to be helping them. Read more about Lexie and Wesley…

How did you meet each other?

I was living in Atlanta and Wesley was living in Raleigh. My best friend was dating Wesley’s best friend. They kept telling each of us that we would be a perfect match and wanted to set us up. They planned a weekend for Wesley to come to Atlanta. When we met, it was basically love at first sight. He left town that Sunday and we were already planning the next trip to see each other!!

When did you get engaged, and how did he ask?

We were about to go on a week vacation in Mexico with his family. Since we lived 6 hours apart, we were so excited to have seven days together!! I was working the weekend before we left for Mexico. He picked the ring up from the jeweler at 6:00 on Friday afternoon and left early Saturday morning to drive to Atlanta. He surprised me when I got home from work.

What do you two do for a living?
I am in Residential Real Estate and Wesley is in sales.

What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple?

We both love the outdoors. We love everything associated with the water. Snow skiing out West is our favorite winter sport. Traveling and exploring new cities is something we both really enjoy. Hiking and brunch on Sundays is a great weekend past time.

Why did you choose The Farm at Old Edwards as your wedding location?
From the beginning, we knew we both wanted an outdoor ceremony and reception. We wanted a wedding different from that of our friends. Since I am from Atlanta and Wesley from Raleigh, we decided on a destination wedding. When we first pulled up to Highlands and looked at the Farm, we just knew it was the perfect place!! Highlands is magical—from the quaint little town, to the gorgeous landscapes at the Farm, to the rustic and natural old barn for the reception, we knew we found Camelot!

When you think about your wedding, what are you most excited about?
Of course I can’t wait to marry Wesley. But I think the most amazing thing about a wedding is that for the only time in your life, you will be surrounded by all your family and friends who care so much about you.

What do you love about each other?
Lexie: What I love about Wesley is… Wesley is so caring and kind. I know he loves me with all his heart and would do anything in the world for me. The most important thing I love about Wesley is that he makes me laugh. There is never a dull moment with him. We have so much fun together and this is what I think will get us through the hard times.

Wesley: What I love about Lexie is…Personally, I will never forget the first time I caught her eye. What a special person, she pulled up glowing for our first date. Initially I was nervous; however, after I was immersed in the web of her comfort and laughter I felt as though I had known her for years. She is the most caring and loving person I have ever been in contact with. Finally, I can’t imagine my life without such a wonderful person.
