Erin and Adam’s Biltmore Estate Wedding

I showed you Erin and Adam’s rehearsal dinner at the Fields at Blackberry Cove, and now I am finally posting their wedding pictures!  The ceremony took place on the front lawn of the Biltmore House, which is a spectacular location.  Then guests were treated to a private tour of the Biltmore House immediately following the ceremony which led out to the reception on the South Terrace.  Tremendous job by Stacey and her team with The Bloom Room on all the floral and decor.  Thank you to Corey McNabb for his exquisite photography and for capturing all the wonderful moments and details.  Check it out…

Love these shots with Adam and his family…

A bagpiper led the guests from the ceremony to the door of the Biltmore House for their tour

Loved Erin’s dance with her dad…so much fun, as you can tell!

Erin’s parents surprised the couple with a firework display during their reception!

The happy couple drove away in her father’s Aston Martin…sweet vehicle!

Erin and Adam’s Rehearsal Dinner

Erin and Adam’s rehearsal dinner was located at The Fields at Blackberry Cove, which is a gorgeous location located in Weaverville, North Carolina.  It was the perfect place to relax and kick their feet back before the big wedding day.  Stacey, with the Bloom Room, decorated the barn and tables to a tee making for a fun and festive event.  They had games displayed on the lawn to play… basketball, croquet and more.  Plus they topped off the night with a big bonfire and a variety of s’mores (my favorite)!  Thank you, Corey McNabb, for the always fabulous photos!

Pictures of their wedding at the Biltmore Estate will come soon…

Adam completed the Iron Man, so it was only appropriate to surprise him with a pair of running shoes for his groom’s cake!

A slideshow of the couple was put together by the families…looks like they are enjoying it!

Natalie and Jeff married at the Grove Park Inn

Natalie and Jeff were married at the Grove Park Inn in August, and the day was beautiful.   They were so full of joy, and it was so much fun to be part of this perfect union.  Natalie is originally from the Asheville area, and her parents still live here in the mountains.   Natalie’s parents were married at the Grove Park Inn, so this was the perfect spot for their dream wedding!  The Purple Iris, did awesome work with the floral design, and that was no surprise!  Thank you, Liz.  And to capture it all, was the infamous Corey McNabb…fabulous job as always, Corey!  First of all, I want you to take a glimpse at Natalie and Jeff’s rehearsal dinner at the Riverbend Barn on the Biltmore Estate.  I love this venue!

Natalie’s sweet mama…

Jeff sang a song to Natalie, and it was so precious!  Below is Natalie watching as she gets serenaded…  :)

And now for the wedding day!

Natalie and Jeff named each table after places they have traveled together

So let me explain…Jeff and Natalie wanted to make their introductions just like a Chicago Bulls lineup, and it was great.  We had the spotlight, the announcer, the music, and the jerseys!  The groomsmen jerseys said G-Men, and the bridemaids said B-Maids.  I loved it!

Natalie and Jeff wanted the Smoochbooth at their wedding, and it was a hit!  As guests had their picture taken, they would put them in a book and write notes to the bride and groom.

Leigh-Ervin and Will

I wanted to feature some of my couples that have been married for at least a year to see what they are up to!  Leigh-Ervin and Will were married last October at the Central United Methodist Church, and their reception was held on the South Terrace of the Biltmore House.  I just love this couple and their families.  Please read below to learn more about these sweet newlyweds…

How did you meet each other?
We met after my senior year of high school and Will’s freshman year of college. He came to Asheville with some of our mutual friends and we all celebrated the fourth of July together. Little did we know that less than two years later we would start dating!

How long were you engaged before getting married?
16 months- we got married after I finished graduate school.

When did you get engaged, and how did he ask?
We got engaged in May 2007 at Ocean Isle Beach. Will took me on his golf cart to the furthest point on the island, and we walked out to the edge of the sand where we could see nothing but the ocean and the sunset and he got down on one knee and proposed!! It was perfect!!

What do you two do for a living?
I am a speech-language pathologist and Will works in finance.

What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple now that you are married?
We love to travel, go to Appalachian football games, walk our dog and visit our families.

Why did you choose Asheville as your wedding location?
I grew up in Asheville and couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else!

When you think about your wedding, what did you love the most?
Our wedding was the most amazing, perfect and best day of our lives! We loved too many things to name, but will always remember our wedding as a time spent with our families and friends- the people that we love the most! One of the most memorable moments for me was walking into the church (my home church that I grew up in) for the first time- and later seeing Will at the end of the aisle, surrounded by family and friends- it was utterly breathtaking!

Any special moments at your wedding that you want to share with us?
The fireworks show on the South Terrace was unbelievable! Our band (The Company Band) was equally remarkable and we would recommend them to anybody!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Maui, Hawaii

After a year of marriage, do you have any advice for engaged couples out there?
You will absolutely LOVE being married!!

What do you love about each other?
Leigh-Ervin: What I love about Will is…that from the moment I first saw him I thought that he was the most handsome guy I had ever seen! He fills my life with laughter, happiness, support and love every single day!

Will: What I love about Leigh-Ervin is…she is the most upbeat and positive person I have ever met. She is beautiful and my best friend in the world (and is a great cook)!

Anything else you would want people to know?
Our wedding would not have been possible without the phenomenal vendors that made all of our dreams come to life. Many, many thanks to Tara Jordan (wedding planner), Corey McNabb (photographer), The Bloom Room (florist), A Fine Line (calligraphy), The Company Band, Four Seasons Films (videographer) and everybody else who came together to make our wedding the best day of our lives! We would highly recommend any and every person that helped bring our visions to life!

Meg and Ross happily wed at Claxton Farm

Meg and Ross were such a lovely couple, and Meg was very passionate about all of her wedding details.   What I loved so much about this wedding was all of the Do-It-Yourself touches throughout the decor.  Meg’s father is very artistic, and we used his ability as much as possible!  He painted a picture of the Claxton Farm for the guests to sign, he painted all of the table names on tree stumps, and made every sign that you will see throughout the pictures below.  For a fun twist, Meg and Ross wanted to make a photobooth of their own  Fabric was draped, props were put in place, and cameras were snapping.  Love it!  Thank you to Jeremy Russell with Corey McNabb Photography for taking such gorgeous photographs of Meg and Ross’s special day!

In lieu of favors, Meg and Ross donated money to the American Cancer Society in memory of Meg’s mother.  Money was also donated to Jude’s Children Hospital.  Miniature yellow roses were Meg’s mother’s favorite flower, so they were sprinkled throughout the decor in her honor.

Meg and Ross had a private meeting before the ceremony began…can you tell he loves her?  :)

Sangria, lemonade and mojitos were served to guests as they arrive.  They had stirrers shaped like golf flags for all the drinks because Meg and Ross met playing a golf game!

Wedding and Reception in Asheville

So you have seen Janet and Thomas in their engagement shoot, as a featured couple, and you have seen the film of their ceremony, but now we have pictures of this wonderful day!  Thank you to Amber Holritz with Corey McNabb Photography and her second shooter Ian Riley, for taking these amazing photos.  I had so much fun working with Janet and her family…anyone that knows them loves them, and I have definitely learned why!  They were always a joy to be around, and they always made me laugh!  Don’t you just love people like that?  The wedding ceremony took place in the LongMeodow Park in the Rambles, followed by a heavy hors d’oeuvres wedding reception at the Grand Bohemian Hotel.  Check out this beautiful day…

More Engagement Photos!

I wanted to share with you a few photos from Leigh-Ervin and Will’s engagement portrait session with Corey McNabb. Corey LOVES land rovers, so he took several pictures of them next to Leigh-Ervin’s dad’s land rover! Of course, these were the ones I got for the blog! :)

Leigh-Ervin and Will are getting married in October at Central United Methodist, and their reception is held on the South Terrace at the Biltmore Estate. I am so excited about this wedding…it is going to be spectacular! I just LOVE this couple…

Also, I definitely wanted to share this amazing slideshow, by Corey McNabb, of one of my other wonderful couples, Lauren and Jeff. They are getting married at the Grove Park Inn in August, and it will be tons of fun! Can’t wait!

Check it out…

The Rockstar Workshop

This past Sunday, I had the privilege of hosting the opening party for Corey McNabb’s Rockstar Workshop, once again! We had a wonderful time, and everyone really seemed to have a lot fun getting to know one another. There were several photographers from all over the U.S. that came to soak in as much knowledge as possible. I’m so happy I got to be a part!

Liz, with The Purple Iris, arranged some very cool arrangements for the party…thanks, Liz!

Delicious cappuccino pound from Cakes by Jane, and an incredible chocolate carving by Chez Nous Confections.

My crazy husband (isn’t he adorable?), me, Jill (the gorgeous, classy, fabulous, spectacular wife of Corey McNabb), and the rockstar himself! :) Oh, and I just noticed my sister-in-law, Laura, peeking her head into the picture. She is also and expectant mother! I am going to be an aunt!! Yipee! :)

The FANTABULOUS and gorgeous, Amber Holritz, who takes amazing self-portraits! :)

Kate and Kevin get married at Homewood

Kate and Kevin’s wedding was spectacular. With specialty lighting, flowers by The Bloom Room, and the beauty of Homewood…It felt and looked like a dream. When Kate and I first talked, she told me her mother had passed away from breast cancer just a few years back. Kate wanted to make sure that this wedding reflected her mom’s love, beauty and grace. Since pink is the signature color for breast cancer awareness, we fused this color into every detail in her mother’s memory. In the planning process, I discovered Kate loved feathers, hanging crystals and candlelight, so we used these to accent the entire wedding. Fortunately, we had Corey McNabb and his associate, Amber, covering the event to capture all of the gorgeous details! I feel blessed to have worked with Kate and Kevin in planning such a wonderful occasion. They will always hold a special place in my heart… I am certainly happy that they decided to come all the way from Houston, Texas, to have their wedding in the mountains of North Carolina! What better place is there? :)

The always perfect calligraphy of Dana with A Fine Line Studio. She was responsible for all the calligraphy on the place cards, table cards and other touches…Thank you, Dana!

The P.I.N.K Ribbon cocktail was their signature drink for the evening, and it was chilled as it flowed through an intricate ice carving by Masterpiece Ice.
Look at this cake by Cakes by Jane! Wow!! It was perfect…

Joanna (singer) and Lief (above) with Orange Krush kept the crowd dancing! They are awesome!

I love this picture of Kate with her dad…

I’m not even going to ask… :)

Lindsey and Nick

Lindsey and Nick’s wedding took place in October at a chapel surrounded with woods. Liz with The Purple Iris, transformed this chapel into an enchanted forest…and it truly felt magical! To top off the day, the guests were then treated to an elegant sit down meal at the Grove Park Inn Resort. The always fantastic, Corey McNabb, took the photographs, while Four Seasons Films captured the event. You can watch the trailer of this wedding on my website! I want to say a special thank you to Lindsey’s parents, Vikki and Jim. They have become like family, and they treated me this way. It was such an honor to plan this amazing wedding for such an incredible family. I was actually very sad to see the wedding come to an end because I enjoyed every moment. I wish the best of the best for Lindsey and Nick’s future together…they deserve it!

Here are lots of pictures…I couldn’t just pick a few, they were all so good!

Isn’t she beautiful!!
That dress was stunning…
