Leigh-Ervin and Will

I wanted to feature some of my couples that have been married for at least a year to see what they are up to!  Leigh-Ervin and Will were married last October at the Central United Methodist Church, and their reception was held on the South Terrace of the Biltmore House.  I just love this couple and their families.  Please read below to learn more about these sweet newlyweds…

How did you meet each other?
We met after my senior year of high school and Will’s freshman year of college. He came to Asheville with some of our mutual friends and we all celebrated the fourth of July together. Little did we know that less than two years later we would start dating!

How long were you engaged before getting married?
16 months- we got married after I finished graduate school.

When did you get engaged, and how did he ask?
We got engaged in May 2007 at Ocean Isle Beach. Will took me on his golf cart to the furthest point on the island, and we walked out to the edge of the sand where we could see nothing but the ocean and the sunset and he got down on one knee and proposed!! It was perfect!!

What do you two do for a living?
I am a speech-language pathologist and Will works in finance.

What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple now that you are married?
We love to travel, go to Appalachian football games, walk our dog and visit our families.

Why did you choose Asheville as your wedding location?
I grew up in Asheville and couldn’t imagine getting married anywhere else!

When you think about your wedding, what did you love the most?
Our wedding was the most amazing, perfect and best day of our lives! We loved too many things to name, but will always remember our wedding as a time spent with our families and friends- the people that we love the most! One of the most memorable moments for me was walking into the church (my home church that I grew up in) for the first time- and later seeing Will at the end of the aisle, surrounded by family and friends- it was utterly breathtaking!

Any special moments at your wedding that you want to share with us?
The fireworks show on the South Terrace was unbelievable! Our band (The Company Band) was equally remarkable and we would recommend them to anybody!

Where did you go on your honeymoon?
Maui, Hawaii

After a year of marriage, do you have any advice for engaged couples out there?
You will absolutely LOVE being married!!

What do you love about each other?
Leigh-Ervin: What I love about Will is…that from the moment I first saw him I thought that he was the most handsome guy I had ever seen! He fills my life with laughter, happiness, support and love every single day!

Will: What I love about Leigh-Ervin is…she is the most upbeat and positive person I have ever met. She is beautiful and my best friend in the world (and is a great cook)!

Anything else you would want people to know?
Our wedding would not have been possible without the phenomenal vendors that made all of our dreams come to life. Many, many thanks to Tara Jordan (wedding planner), Corey McNabb (photographer), The Bloom Room (florist), A Fine Line (calligraphy), The Company Band, Four Seasons Films (videographer) and everybody else who came together to make our wedding the best day of our lives! We would highly recommend any and every person that helped bring our visions to life!

Leigh-Ervin and Will’s Wedding at the Biltmore Estate

Leigh-Ervin and Will’s wedding was magical! The ceremony took place at the Central United Methodist Church, in downtown Asheville. From there, guests made their way to the South Terrace of the Biltmore House just in time to see the sunset behind the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was a cool fall evening…perfect for all the dancing that happened after dinner! I absolutely LOVED this gorgeous and very happy couple, and their wonderful families. Mostly I worked with Leigh-Ervin and her mother, Jo, on all the plans, and we just had the best time together. I want to thank them for being such amazing people to work, laugh and play with! :) It was sad to see the wedding end, but I am so happy for them! Thank you to Four Seasons Films for using your incredible talent to film this wedding, and to Corey McNabb for giving me so many fantastic pictures that I can’t seem to narrow down! So, here are lots of pictures for my blog readers…the more pictures the better, right?! :)

I think this picture is so funny…
Stacey, with The Bloom Room, blew me away with her flowers at this wedding…

Yes, that is Leigh-Ervin’s manicured toes…this was the first glimpse at the aisle she would soon walk down! It was a great moment…

Leigh-Ervin’s dress was stunning….a blush Vera Wang

All their guests wrote a note, a wish, and/or a prayer to the bride and groom to keep forever!

Dana with A Fine Line does the best calligraphy in the world! I don’t know how she does it!

A trunk full of flip flops for those weary feet….especially for those ladies wearing heels! So much more fun to dance in flip flops! :)

Loved Leigh-Ervin’s dad…life of the party!

Photographers, Corey McNabb and Bob Davis, in the background. Bob Davis came from Chicago to second shoot for Corey. It was great getting to know him and seeing his talent…

A fifteen-minute display of fireworks was a highlight for Leigh-Ervin, Will and all of their guests…

The End!

Melissa and Alex’s wedding at the Biltmore Estate

I just love this couple…from the first time I met them I knew that they would be so much fun to work with! Alex treated Melissa like a princess where ever we went, and I just was giddy over the love they had for each other. Thank you, Melissa and Alex, for asking me to help you with such a special and exciting day in your lives. It was so much fun! They were married on the South Terrace of the Biltmore House on October 4, 2008. After the ceremony, their guests enjoyed the gardens until shuttles took them to the Lioncrest for the cocktail reception, sit-down dinner and dancing! The weather was beautiful, and Melissa was radiant…it was a perfect day! You are about to see a lot of pictures because I couldn’t narrow it down too well! :)

Thank you, Corey and Jeremy (with Corey McNabb Photography) for such amazing pictures. You know that I adore the work that you two do! And thank you, once again, to The Bloom Room, for the spectacular floral design!

What a wonderful moment Corey captured…

Isn’t this adorable?
I absolutely love this picture of Alex’s father…he just couldn’t hold back the tears….so sweet.

Lindsey and Nick

Lindsey and Nick’s wedding took place in October at a chapel surrounded with woods. Liz with The Purple Iris, transformed this chapel into an enchanted forest…and it truly felt magical! To top off the day, the guests were then treated to an elegant sit down meal at the Grove Park Inn Resort. The always fantastic, Corey McNabb, took the photographs, while Four Seasons Films captured the event. You can watch the trailer of this wedding on my website! I want to say a special thank you to Lindsey’s parents, Vikki and Jim. They have become like family, and they treated me this way. It was such an honor to plan this amazing wedding for such an incredible family. I was actually very sad to see the wedding come to an end because I enjoyed every moment. I wish the best of the best for Lindsey and Nick’s future together…they deserve it!

Here are lots of pictures…I couldn’t just pick a few, they were all so good!

Isn’t she beautiful!!
That dress was stunning…
