Alison and Daniel are my FIRST featured couple!  They are both such beautiful people, and they will be uniting in marriage on May 9th, 2009. Their wedding ceremony and reception are taking place at Deerpark, located on the majestic Biltmore Estate.  Alison lives in Knoxville, Tennessee, and is finishing up undergraduate school.  Daniel currently lives in Columbus, Georgia completing his Army Infantry training.  I asked Alison and Daniel to take some time to answer some questions for me, and I want to share their answers with you!
How did you meet one another?
Daniel and I meet during fall break of October 2007. I was living with my sister at the time in Atlanta, GA, while working as an intern for Kimberly-Clark. My sister was a recent graduate of Clemson University, and her fiancé and friends were renting a cabin on Lake Jocassee in SC. My sister invited me to come along. I was very hesitant at first; I did not want to go because I didn’t really know her college friends, and I didn’t think I would have much in common with them. Needless to say … I went and the rest is history.
When did you get engaged, and how did Daniel ask?
We got engaged on May 11, 2008. Daniel’s first attempt was on May 9 though. We meet up in Clemson, SC to go to our favorite camping and hiking location where he planned to propose under a waterfall I loved. It was late because we both had to work that day so we did not arrive to the site until 10pm. Once we parked our cars, we began the hike to the camping location where we would put up our tents and call it a night. Unlike previous times before, the hike to the camping spot was not easily found due to overgrowth. We ended up veering off trail and got lost for about 2.5 hrs. By the time we reached the campgrounds it was almost 1am and we hurried to put our tents up because we were exhausted. To our surprise we awoke to six strangers walking around our tent staring at us. It was a rafting tour group and the guide said there would be tours all throughout the day to look at the waterfall. As you can imagine by now, Daniel is getting more nervous and angry because nothing is going according to plan. We load the cars up and decide to head back to my parents home in Kingsport, TN. On Monday, May 11 we went to a local trail and hiked around for the day. While we were biking he stopped in front of me, kneeled down, and asked me to marry him.

What are the qualities that you love about your fiancé?
Alison : confidant, strong, bold, courageous, adventurous, spontaneous, God fearing,
Daniel : compassionate, fun-loving, willing to try new things, strong Christian, forgiving, creative
Why did you choose Asheville as your wedding location?
We both love the mountains and the outdoors. We felt that Asheville was the best place for us to enjoy Gods creation.
When you think about your wedding, what are you most excited about?
Making a commitment to God, my fiancé, and my family.
Anything else you would want people to know?
Don’t make your wedding about anything BUT Jesus Christ and his will for your life.
