Janet and Thomas are both attorneys in Asheville, North Carolina, and they will be hitched in June!   Thomas works for the District Attorney’s office and Janet works at Messer Law Firm.  Janet and Thomas have the best personalities, and are truly a great match for each other.  They dated for a full two years before even getting engaged, so they are very ready to get married!  Janet and Thomas will be getting married at LongMeadow Park at The Rambles, followed by a reception at the new Grand Bohemian Hotel.  Should be a spectacular event!  Here is some info on this lovely couple…
How did you meet each other?
We went to the same law school and were “formally” introduced at a friend’s bonfire.
Janet: I knew Thomas was the one the same night we met, when we went to the store to buy things for the bonfire, and he bought me a tiara and flowers and told me that I could be the queen for the evening!  (good move!)
Thomas: I had my eye on Janet since the first time I saw her on campus.  One of the first times I talked to her she called me by my roommate’s name (ouch).  She didn’t make that mistake again!

When did you get engaged, and how did he ask?
Thomas and I got engaged the Thursday before I graduated from law school. Thomas surprised me early and came into town.  I was getting ready for a dinner at my professor’s house and thought my friend had come early to pick me up.  I came to the door with one shoe on and curlers in my hair.    When I opened the door Thomas was standing there in a suit and he dropped to his knee and held out the engagement ring.  I don’t even think he got a chance to say anything before I said “YES”!!!!
What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple?
Both of us are very social people and we enjoy spending our time with friends and family. We are always excited to go to any sporting event, especially University of Tennessee football games; celebrate all the holidays, especially St. Patrick’s day and Halloween; eat a good meal and drink good wine; go to happy hour at Scully’s on Friday afternoon; and travel to anywhere and everywhere!

Why did you choose Asheville as your wedding location?
It’s where we both call home.  Janet has grown up in Asheville and Thomas followed her here.  Who wouldn’t want to have a beautiful wedding in a place like Asheville?!
When you think about your wedding, what are you most excited about?
Janet:  Wearing my Dress and Shoes!
Thomas: The Open Bar!
Seriously, after all of the planning we are ready to say I DO and start our lives together!  There are so many things that we want to do and are even more excited to do them as Husband and Wife.  We want our wedding weekend to be a celebration of everything we love, and we want everyone to leave with some great memories.
What do you love about each other?
Thomas:  What I love about Janet is every time I look at her I want to smile.  She is the most caring, thoughtful and kind person I have ever met.  It also doesn’t hurt that she is drop dead beautiful!
Janet:  What I love about Thomas is that when he hugs me I feel so lucky, peaceful and happy.
Anything else you would want people to know?
How lucky we both feel to have such great families and friends.  The bonds Janet and I have with our close friends are the type that we hope never fade.  They are always there to laugh with, gossip with and “play with.”  To our friends, thank you.
Thomas and I are so thankful to come from such amazing families.  They are both very loving and supportive and know when to challenge and support us.  We have both been accepted into each others families with open arms. We can only hope our relationship is as strong and long lasting as our parents.  We are also thankful for our siblings and feel lucky to have had you all as our best friends and family.  To our families thank you for pushing us, thank you for just being there, and thank you for making us the people we are today!
