Blayne and Jimmy

4/19/2013

Blayne and Jimmy will be getting married this April at the Grace Episcopal Church in Asheville, NC.  Their reception will be held at the Grand Bohemian in Biltmore Village.  Blayne and Jimmy have been together for about two years now, and I am so excited to see them become husband and wife.  They have been incredible to work with, and I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them.  Here is a little bit more about them…
How did you meet one another?
Jimmy and I WISH we had met at a Jimmy Buffett show, which was actually our second date.  We had such a wonderful evening, and I even heard the song Bama Breeze for the first time (shocking, I know).  As Jimmy Buffett sang on the summer night, I started thinking, “could this be the person I’ve been looking for?”
When Jimmy ended up in the ER on our third date I thought, “well if we can make it past this we might just have something here.”  Over the next few months Jimmy and I traveled across the country to see Phish and created memories with our friends and families.
In the fall we visited the beach to meet Jimmy’s beloved grandmother “Mommy House,” and we traveled to Oxford, MS where we ate the best hamburger of our lives, bonded with my dad’s side of the family, and Jimmy told me he was in love with me.
For New Years Jimmy and I traveled to New York.  We hung out with Mimi and Kate, went to Phish four nights in a row, and stayed up until 6 in the morning drinking champagne with some of our favorite people in the entire world.  As the sun came up on January 1st, I was certain Jimmy was the person I was supposed to be with for the rest of my life.
In January we got our beloved puppy Charlotte and life fell into place.  As the days passed we became a little family.
In March we headed to Jackson Hole with my mom and Ben.  I realized if Jimmy still loved me AFTER he saw me ski, he would love me forever.
All spring I hoped and wished he would ask me to marry him!  I had the answer all ready to go…
Finally, just as summer started, Jimmy and Charlotte and I went on a walk at Westminster.  Jimmy got down on one knee and said “I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.  Will you marry me?”
We BOTH feel like we are the luckiest people alive.  We get each other, amazing families and the best friends anyone could ask for in a lifetime.
We thought for a long time about who we wanted to invite to the wedding. Each of you are extremely important to us and play a special role in our lives.   Please come celebrate with us!
When were you engaged and how did he ask?
Were engaged in June 2012. We went on a walk with our dog Charlotte.  We were on the trail at Westminster (where I went to high school) and Jimmy stopped at a bench.  I had no idea why he was stopping…  then he pulled this huge box out of his pocket.  He got down on one knee and said “I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you.  Will you marry me?”  Then he opened the box and showed me the most amazing ring I’ve ever seen.
I said, “yes,” and then I just looked at the ring and said, “is the for me?”  I think I was in shock! 🙂 The ring is so much bigger and so much more than anything I’ve ever dreamed of getting.  But you know the best part about it?  It’s Jimmy’s great great grandmother’s ring.  I feel so honored that the Macauleys would trust me with something so important.  I will take such good care of it.  It is such a honor to be able to wear it.  A huge thank you to Jimmy’s sisters and parents for helping him make such a great decision.
What do you two do for a living?
Blayne works for Beacham and Company, Realtors. She does the marketing and photography for the firm. Jimmy works for Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta managing their reservations department.
What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple?
We are looking forward to years of laughter and enjoying one another’s company. We hope to travel and have more adventures with friends and family. We are also planning to start a family of our own.
Why did you choose the Grand Bohemian as your wedding reception location?
Blayne is an artist and the art and décor of the hotel intrigued us from the moment we walked in. The ballroom and terrace struck us as the perfect size and feel for our mid-size wedding (150 people).
When you think about your wedding, what are you most excited about?
Seeing so many people we love in one place. Asheville is not the easiest place for many of our friends and family to get to and we really appreciate their efforts.
What do you love about one another?
Blayne: What I love about Jimmy is his laughter and the calm that he brings to my sometimes frenetic world.
Jimmy: What I love about Blayne is her sense of humor and her artistic nature. She loves her friends and family really deeply and I appreciate that so much.
Anything else you would want people to know?
Asheville is such a great place for a wedding, and Tara has been nothing shy of incredible!

Thanks so much Blayne and Jimmy!!
