Ashley and Trey are gorgeous (ummm…see picture above) AND sweet as pie. They have been a couple for four and a half years now, and they are highly anticipating becoming husband and wife in May. Their wedding and reception are taking place at the lovely Inn on Biltmore Estate, and we are all praying for sunny weather! Read more below to get to know them a little better…
How did you meet each other?
We initially met through mutual friends but later discovered just how much fate had played a role in our relationship. My grandparents had begged me to meet a boy who attended CSU when I was just a freshman in college. Thinking nothing of it at the time, I declined. Trey’s Godparents also wanted him to meet a girl who went to College of Charleston, but Trey wasn’t looking for a relationship either. Four years, and several hospital trips later, we realized that our Grand and Godparents were, in fact, best friends. We had already been dating a few months when we realized our grandparents had been trying to set us up for years.

When did you get engaged, and how did he ask?

Aware of my need to know every detail of every plan, Trey took me to Walt Disney World Resort a day before the rest of the family would be arriving for our niece’s first birthday. We checked in to The Grand Floridian Resort and were escorted to club level to a room overlooking Cinderella Castle. I was certain I had figured out Trey’s plan and that night at The California Grill, I was determined to find the ring. I even acted cold so Trey would give me his jacket and I could have a chance to pat down the pockets. Dinner came and so did the Wishes Fireworks and still no ring. Feeling a little disappointed, we returned to the room where I sighed audibly and reluctantly announced I was headed to bed. Trey asked me to wait and as I turned around, he knelt down with a box in his hand. Neither of us remember what was specifically said aside from the ecstatic “yes” but the rest is history…
What do you two do for a living?
We both are employed at law firms in Charleston and are working on our Master’s degrees at The Citadel!

What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple?
So many things! We love to run together, travel to new places, try new restaurants, play trivia, & attend USC sporting events (Trey made me put that).
Why did you choose the Biltmore Estate as your wedding location?
The first trip we ever took as a couple was to The Estate. We went with Trey’s parents and toured the house during the Christmas Candlelight tour. Our very first picture as a couple was made under the cherub on the back stairwell.

When you think about your wedding, what are you most excited about?
Trey: “Celebrating our lives together and our future.”
Ashley: “I’m so excited to share our relationship with our family and friends! We’re going to have so much fun!”
What do you love about each other?
Ashley: What I love about Trey is…
He really is my best friend. I know people say that a lot but it’s very true for us and I think that’s so special. He is so caring and patient and a true southern gentleman. There are times when I’ll be thinking of something so random and he’ll say exactly what I’m thinking. We just click. Our love story is so amazing and I truly believe God made us for each other.
Trey: What I love about Ashley is…
She is my biggest fan. An important characteristic of a relationship is support, and that is exactly what she gives me. I know if there is anything I need, she is right there beside me. We have a strong Christian background, many common interests and that, along with many other things, makes it easy for me to love her. She’s my best friend and my motivator, and I couldn’t pray for anyone better.


Anything else you would want people to know?
We’re just so ecstatic that we get to celebrate with our family and friends! We’ve really enjoyed planning and selecting elements of our wedding as a team.
