What fun it has been to work with Samantha on her wedding plans! She and Ben have been together for 5 years now, and they are looking forward to their ceremony and reception at the Deerpark on the Biltmore Estate. Should be quite a fabulous party, and I am very excited to be a part!
How did you meet each other?
We met at a venue that his band was supposed to play at. My friend and I went to see a different band that never showed. It ended up being just us and his band so they took us outside to listen to their demos. We invited them home to wash their clothes and take showers since they were currently living in a Wal-Mart parking lot in their RV.
When did you get engaged, and how did he ask?
We got engaged on his sisters birthday June 23rd. He asked me in our hotel room in Vegas right before we met up with his parents and sister for her birthday dinner. He laid it out with candles and champagne.
What do you two do for a living?
He’s a traveling musician and I’m a Yoga teacher.
What are some of the activities that you like to do together as a couple?
We looove going on movie dates. We play pool together; we go to concerts and walk trails with our Labrador.
Why did you choose the Biltmore Estate as your wedding location?
It reminded Ben of his home country, England.
When you think about your wedding, what are you most excited about?
I’m so excited about seeing Tara’s vision in real life. I’m super excited about the food too of course! It’s a beautiful venue and I feel like it will be a beautiful wedding.
What do you love about each other?
Samantha: What I love about Ben is…
I love the fact that he makes me a better person. He is my best friend and he supports me in everything I want to do. He is kind, giving and selfless (even if he acts like he isn’t sometimes). He makes me want to strive for more in life. He’s there for me no matter how far away he is. He makes me laugh no matter what mood I get myself in. I couldn’t imagine marrying anyone else.
Ben: What I love about Samantha is the fact that she makes me feel like just being me is enough. She doesn’t care how famous I am or how much money I make. She made me realize that just being myself is all she wants and needs. She keeps me grounded and makes me want to be the best person I possibly can be. She truly is my best friend. The first person I think about when I wake up and the last person I think of when I go to bed. She is 100% supportive of everything I do and is so tolerant and understanding when it comes to my job. She has showed me what true love really is.
Anything else you would want people to know?
We are like yin and yang. He makes up for the things I lack and I make up for the things he lacks.
